I am sorry for the late notice on these camps but I have been quite busy organizing summer ice and running Pre-tryout Camps so unfortunately, we have to go with it. I have decided to keep the May camps focused on the younger crowd, as with Pre-tryout camps done and summer camps coming, this is one of the groups that may not get a fair shake at upcoming camps.
The IP to U8 Camp will focus more on raw basics. Edges, stopping both directions, cross-overs and turning will all be covered but this camp is definately for the 'new to hockey crowd".
The U7 to U9 cap is geared to a higher level crowd that may already be in their secord or third season and would like the opportunity to hone some skills before the summer 4v4 and 3v3 season. All information is listed below.
Registration for both camps will open Monday April 28th at 6:00pm
IP to U8 OPEN Camp
Location: Invista Centre, Desjardins Pad.
Time: 6:00am to 6:50am
Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays May 5, 7, 12, 14, 21, 26 and 28th (7 Sessions)
Age Group: IP to U8 2025/26 Season
Level: OPEN (New to Hockey or a season or two of IP)Non gender specific.
Session Cap: 12 skaters
Cost: $245.00 (Tax Included) Due upon confirmation of registration.
As mentioned, this camp will focus on the raw basics. MOst players start in IP and are given a puck far too early in their development and are forced to learn to skate AND learn to handle a puck at the same time. Both of these skills on their own are incredibly hard to learn and so we run our camps at the level devoid of pucks to give your player the ability to focus on their feet. Learning proper skills and posture so that they can develop the more technical skills once the basics are mastered.
U7 to U9 Experienced Camp
Location: Invista Centre, Selkirk Pad
Time: 6:00am to 6:50am
Dates: Tueasdays and Thursdays May 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, and 29th (8 sessions)
Age Group: U7 to U9 2025/26 Season
Level: U7 to U9 Returning Players
Session Cap: 12 skaters
Cost: $280.00 (taxes included) Due upon confirmation of registration.
All sessions will be focused on fundemental skills with drills designed to be skated at high intensity and speed. Sessions will include Edges, Forward Striding and Backward Skating, Crossovers and Turns and Pivots. Again, because of the age and expected skill level of this camp, players will be encouraged to push themselves to be faster and more accurate with all skating movements and techniques introduced in the camp.
